Student Wellbeing Programme

Highlights

In the week starting January 24, 2022, the Beaconhouse College Programme (BCP) launched its Student Wellbeing project nationwide.

To put mental and emotional wellbeing at the forefront of the BCP experience we offer, coupled with an objective of inculcating the importance of mental health advocacy in our students, resulted in the initiation of “BCP for Mental health – #YouMatter” week. A programme initiated from the school was taken forward by avid students to promote the importance of mental health for all.

Over the week, different events were held daily, ranging from wearing green ribbons (symbol of mental health advocacy) to meditative yoga sessions, expression through art, de-stressing with pets on campus, and writing thoughts on a wall of gratitude. Psychologists were invited on campus to talk to students about pertinent issues in young adult’s e.g peer pressure, anxiety, depression and self-esteem issues. These were very well received by all.

Starting with this week, we at the Beaconhouse College Programme continue to provide daily wellbeing mentoring to our students, so that they are able to achieve their academic and non-academic goals while being able to manage the work and commitment it takes to actualize all that they aspire for.
